Hi!

Welcome to Room 13, 2020

Room 13 is a Year 1 and 2 class. We have an exciting term planned.

Our HERO focus is "O" for Organised. This means "Being organised and prepared for learning".
To do this please support your child to:

Come to school every day - On time!

Growth Mindset

You will hear us talk about not giving up, that mistakes are ok, and learning skills to manage ourself. This is an important factor for our young class.  By learning how to have the right mindset and not giving up when our learning feels hard can be tricky. We teach many strategies that have a positive influence for our students to be able to use with support towards their own independence. Please come in and see our posters on the back wall of our classroom that we teach/use to inspire our learners.

Our Team

Our team name Te Whanau Kawakawa. This includes us the Room 13 learners, Room 8 learners with Whaea Anna and Room 9 learners with Whaea Nicky (our Team Leader). Each Friday at 1.25pm we have an assembly in the hall to celebrate our week. Please feel free to come along.

Library

We have a Library session each Tuesday to support reading and also the chance to learn ICT skills on the school computers and our classroom iPads.

School Time

Our day starts at 8.45am-2.30pm. Please support us in having your child at school on time. Any queries feel free to come and see me before or after the above school times. This is a 10 Week term.

Fruit and Milk

We have the "Milk in schools programme" and kindly receive milk form Fonterra daily as well as water in class throughout the day. Please leave flavoured milks and juice for home. We also have fruit in schools where we receive a bucket of fruit to the classroom daily for the students to eat throughout the day also.

This page will be updated and photos to show our learning. Please feel free to share this page with your whanau and keep up to date with what we are learning.
