How you can help your child at home

Some ways that you can support your child/ren's learning at home are:

1. Reading with your child/ren to foster a love of reading. Getting them to read - whether it's reading magazines, books, recipes or labels - and by checking their understanding of what they have read by asking them to retell the main events to you, as well as asking them questions about what they have read.

2. Practice writing their name, common words they use/ read in their readers, and  ensure they are forming letters correctly. There are lots of neat ways to practice writing including; writing with chalk on concrete, using different pens and pencils, painting words, painting water onto a surface, play dough (to name a few).

2. Counting forwards and backwards to 100, asking what number goes before and after any given number up to 100, giving them simple maths equations to solve and asking them to explain how they worked them out.

3. If you have internet access, here are some amazing websites that your child/ren can access
